The MBC program is designed to teach current and future professionals about marine ecosystems from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Coursework focuses on marine and climate science, ecology, law and policy, economics, and environmental justice. Students are also given opportunities for practical training in survey design and analysis, Marine GIS, negotiation, public speaking and a variety of other tangible communication tools, including filmmaking.

The diversity of personal experiences, values, and worldviews that arise from differences of culture and circumstance strengthens the MAS MBC program and our mission. Learn more about Diversity at Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
