Our uniquely inclusive program brings together students with wide-ranging personal and professional experiences.

Is this program for you?

The accelerated one-year Masters of Advanced Studies Program in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation (MAS MBC) differs from a traditional M.S. degree in that it is intentionally interdisciplinary, project-based, and designed to propel graduates into a broad array of employment sectors right out of school.

To support robust classroom discussion and enhance critical thinking, our program welcomes candidates with diverse professional backgrounds in the private and public sectors and non-governmental organizations. The program is most appropriate for applicants with at least three years of experience in resource management, education, outreach, science, advocacy, journalism, law or communications. We are especially interested in candidates from underrepresented communities.

We look for demonstrated interest and commitment to the ocean, which can manifest in a wide variety of experiences. Explore our admissions requirements and process to determine your eligibility and prepare your application!
